Meadow Hills Road Maintenance Policy

MEADOW HILLS ROAD MAINTENANCE POLICY

GENERAL

  • The roads are graded and re-graveled once a year, as a matter of course.

  • There may be occasions where additional road maintenance may be required.  The board will coordinate additional maintenance.

  • Where residents have road or road maintenance issues, contact the MH roads/snow removal point of contact for such issues.

  • The MH road maintenance point of contact is Ron Frost.

  • Our current road maintenance contractor is Keith Dove.  Ron will conduct all official communications with Keith.  Ron is the only person authorized to incur road maintenance on behalf of the board.

  • As our contractor simply carries out the direction of the board, residents are asked not to call Keith and complain about road maintenance.  Please take such concerns to Ron or the board.

  • If there are problems with the road, please take such concerns to Ron or the board.

  • None of above applies to PERSONAL road related work.  Where residents have special requests, they should work with Keith directly (or the contractor of their choice) for such work.

CULVERTS

  • The MHPOA is responsible for road culverts.

  • Keith will clean the culverts when necessary.

  • Property owners are responsible for their own driveway culverts.  This is for both installation and cleaning

OVERHEAD TREE TRIMMING AND SHOULDER MOWING

  • Overhead tree trimming is generally done on a 2/3 year cycle, depending on foliage growth.

  • The board will notify residents before such tree trimming, in the case that they have trees they do not want trimmed.

    • Such areas should be marked with yellow caution tape, or something similar.

    • The board will request the trimmer to not trim marked areas

    • Where trees must be cut to ensure the maintainability of the roads, cutting will be done.

  • Mowing will generally be done at the time of road maintenance.

  • Mowing may be done more than once per year, in order to ensure the maintainability of the roads.

  • The board will notify residents before such mowing, in the case that they have grass or flowers they do not want cut

    • Such areas should be marked with yellow caution tape, or something similar.

    • The board will request the mower to not mow marked areas

    • Where mowing must be done to ensure the maintainability of the roads, mowing will take place.

  • Where residents have trimming or mowing issues, contact the MH roads/snow removal point of contact for such issues.
